But let's be honest if you're making a trade with chicago I'm pretty sure every GM in the league is gonna ask about saad or they're not doing their job

Canucks, especially with a new GM won't trade with the Hawks unless it was an outlandish overpayment by Chicago....In essence wasn't going to happen.

I don't know if I could think of another Organization that would be more opposed to trading with the Hawks than the Canucks.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. Saad for Kesler would be one of those situations.

They will ask, but they should be prepared for a resounding NO and move on to their next target.

Oduya to go? Just like it was said of signing Bickell the Hawks simply had no other player in the system with his skills to replace him. Unless one sees Leddy, next year, as that replacement (I don't) the Hawks have created another hole at a position they claim where their offense starts and at a position where the team statistically regressed last year.

Although Oduya is a UFA and Leddy is an RFA in 2015 their current contracts has Oduya only making 675k more per.

I would trade sharp for Schenn+. Don't know if sharp fills a need there. Schenn definitely fits a need here, though. Besides the JVR-kadri package that won't happen, I wouldn't mind Sharp to Columbus for Anisimov and either their 1st or add a little something to get Kerby Reichel. He is going to be a good one

Bickell is definitely inconsistent, especially In the reglar season, but I think he stays with toews and Hossa. I think he will have a better regular season this year

As soon as Sharp's name popped up I thought of B. Schenn/Couturier from Philly. I know JJ said watch for CHI/TB trade and am not sure if he plays LW, but would like Teddy Purcell in Chicago. Also like the name previously mentioned of Zack ISmith and Greening in Ottawa. Possibility is there to upgrade roster wide.

I think couturier is close to untouchable there, but I always like schenn. He would be great here. The ottawa guys are pretty good, too. I still don't see a fit with Tampa

Greening sucks but Smith is a nice 4th line center

Saad def deserves to be off the table. Esp if its a demand for Kesler. The Nucks are going to get hosed in a Kesler deal. Esp with him wanting out and then theyre high demands. That price is going to go down. As a Kings fan. I pray that neither Anaheim or Chicago land Kesler.

Nice update, JJ. Thanks for everything.

It looks as if Benning has been infected with whatever Gillis carried. To ask for a PACKAGE including Saad for a 30 year old with recent injury issues and 2 years from UFA status.

Kesler is not worth Saad straight up. Not after this playoff and his last 2 years.

Maybe a TT package makes sense because he has not proven himself in the NHL but Saad is a proven commodity. Good to know that management recognizes this as a non starter.

Let Bob Murray overpay with Smith Pellie and a package. He can seed the Nucks future. Kesler on the Ducks should make for a very serious physical battle to get out of the Pacific for the new Kings "dynasty" being touted.

They will need every call McCauley and OHalloran can give them to make it there next year - as they did this year.
